What AI search visibility means
People can use ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and similar tools when researching healthcare services. An answer may mention a practice, link to a page or summarise information from several sources. Our work focuses on the material those tools can find and the clarity of what it says about your practice.
You may see this called generative engine optimisation, GEO or AI SEO. The useful question is practical: does your public information explain your services accurately, and can someone reading it take an appropriate next step?
Start with the questions your practice can answer
We build a question set around your actual services and locations. Topics can include referral requirements, appointment preparation, clinician qualifications, accessibility and the types of consultations available. A page should answer those questions directly and state any limits, rather than repeat a location or keyword throughout the text.
Clinical information needs review by someone qualified to assess it. We help make authorship, sources and review dates clear, and identify outdated statements for your team to confirm.
Search access and website structure
AI visibility work starts with the same foundations as healthcare SEO: useful pages, clear internal links and content that search systems can access. We review the current access settings and document proposed changes for approval, along with the purpose and possible effects of each change.
Google's guidance on AI features connects participation with established search requirements. OpenAI's publisher guidance explains access for ChatGPT search. Neither a technical change nor a rewritten page guarantees a citation.
Keep practice information consistent
A practice name, address or service description that differs across public profiles can make the business harder to understand. We check important details and separate genuine differences, such as services available at only one site, from errors. Our Google Business Profile and local SEO service covers the local listing and location-page work in more detail.
Structured information on the website should describe what is actually visible to readers. We use it to clarify the organisation, pages and services, without adding unsupported ratings, qualifications or claims.
Measure citations and enquiries separately
We record sampled answers with the question, date, tool and available context. A citation in one answer does not mean that every person receives the same result. Referral traffic can show some visits from AI tools, but an answer that is read without a click will not appear as a website visit.
Reporting separates those observations from contact enquiries and booked appointments. This gives your team a record of what changed without treating a mention as a new patient or assuming that all unlabelled traffic came from AI search.
Healthcare content still needs review
The aim is clear, accurate service information. We do not advise promoting prescription medicines to the public or using patient testimonials about clinical care for Ahpra-regulated services. Your team reviews clinical statements before publication. Our healthcare content service can support this work where pages need to be written or updated.
